All over the world there are places that deserve a suspension railway — and don’t have one. A shame for them. These stickers show up at such places, someone takes a photo, and we collect the finds on a map. Wuppertal has had one since 1929. The suspension railway itself since 1901. The rest of the world is asleep.
This has nothing to do with the city of Wuppertal or the municipal utilities. We’re just a few people who think more cities should have a suspension railway.
Nope. Type a name, upload a photo, done. No password, no registration, no email address. We only know who you are if you keep the image ID after uploading and contact us.
If GPS coordinates are in the photo, we read them directly in your browser and award the verified badge. If not, you set the pin yourself or let your device locate you. For privacy we slightly offset the location anyway.
We only keep what we really need: the approximate location. Everything else is stripped — camera model, time, serial number and the rest. We also resize your image to a maximum width of 1920 pixels and save it as WebP. Saves storage, loads faster, and still looks good.
Because we review every image ourselves. No AI, no automatic filter. A real person checks it and makes sure everything is OK (we blur faces and other sensitive information). Usually takes less than 24 hours. If an image isn’t good enough for the map, we reject it and note the reason on your image ID. We don’t send email — we don’t have your address. You can always check the status on the status page.
You do. That doesn’t change. You only allow us to display your image on this map. Each photo gets an image ID (e.g. WSB-7K4T-92MN-3QRS). You get it right after upload. With this ID you can check on the status page what happened to your photo, and — if you change your mind — request deletion.
Directly in the shop. There are sheets with 10, 20 or 30 stickers. Pay conveniently via PayPal and shipping is included in the price.
On anything you own: laptop, bottle, backpack, car. What matters isn’t the surface but the location in the background — that’s the joke. On someone else’s property it’s vandalism, here as almost everywhere else, and that can get expensive. We show such photos without highlighting them — and remove them on request.
Then get it off — the map at least, we can’t help with scraping it off. Report it briefly via “Delete photo”, we respond within two business days. No proof needed, no discussion. We then block the location so the spot doesn’t show up again.
